Abstract

Cet article vise à présenter un cadre théorique relativement peu utilisé dans les recherches francophones en marketing et pourtant très pertinent pour le marketing social : la théorie de l'autodétermination. Cette théorie offre un cadre d'analyse qui permet de comprendre ce qui se passe lorsque l'on tente de convaincre un individu d'adopter certains comportements et de rendre compte de l'atteinte au sentiment d'autonomie qui peut être ressenti. L'objectif de cet article est de présenter les éléments fondamentaux de cette théorie et de montrer son application à un comportement éco-responsable particulier : le tri des déchets.
