Abstract

Spécialiste de la gestion du risque noyade en piscine publique, un jeune chercheur caennais analyse de manière transversale la problématique de la noyade dans les bassins portuaires en apportant un éclairage sur les mesures à adopter pour éviter ces accidents. Un milieu aquatique à proximité des populations génère de facto une potentialité d'accident grave, voire mortel : la noyade. L'Organisation mondiale de la santé (OMS) indique, en 2014, que la noyade est la troisième cause de décès traumatique non intentionnel à l'échelle de la planète. Le risque de se noyer se trouve exacerbé en milieux urbains, dans les villes portuaires, où le port constitue, par héritage, le centre de la cité, lieu d'échange des marchandises où demeure une grande promiscuité entre le milieu risqué et l'Homme. Les abords des ports sont souvent fréquentés et festifs, et la consommation d'alcool vient y renforcer la potentialité d'accident.
