Abstract

Participatory plant breeding (PPB) in maize aims at identifying the effects and interactions of breeding and management innovations on maize nutritional, organoleptic and end-use qualities from PPBM on-farm activities for maize in the Périgord region. New milling tests and quality parameters are performed in parallel, to provide methodological tools to farmers to select diversified populations providing high quality products that had made the historical and cultural value of the plant in the area. The specificity of this task is the involvement of famous "chefs" of local restaurants.
