Abstract

The objective of this chapter is to demonstrate the coherence between the Socio-Economic Approach to Management (SEAM) and the economic and social environment as a whole, a territory that is seen as a vector of social cohesion. It also aims to emphasize the essential contribution of ISEOR's method of management, under all its aspects, within the framework of an entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial socially and sustainably responsible capitalism (SRC). This view goes beyond the restricted field of social responsibility that is limited to companies, since a company is nothing but a capitalist microcosm (Perroux, 1948) and true sustainability lies in the territory's structures. Mackey and Sisodia (2013) follow the same train of thought according to Chandler (2014) when they advocate their concept of Conscious Capitalism, that reestablishing the values-based businesses is central to reinvigorating public support for capitalism which has suffered in recent years as a result of transgressions that have caused widespread economic harm. We need to denounce a harmful drift towards a wild, perverted form of capitalism, one that has been led astray and expresses its opacity, at all the levels of the social, political and economic organization. This disconcerting trend touches CEOs, as well as local or national elected representatives, and even Heads of State in supporting speculative and/or corrupt behaviors, literally throwing to the nettles any ethical consideration.
