Abstract

Quelles sont les conditions pour que la concurrence dans le secteur des semences conduise à des innovations qui répondent aux besoins actuels et futurs de l'agriculture ? Quel est l'effet de l'introduction de nouvelles technologies, comme la sélection génomique, sur la concurrence et sur l'innovation variétale ? Quels sont les effets économiques des différentes formes de propriété intellectuelle ou de réglementation dans cet univers ? Quel est l'effet de la recherche publique sur son fonctionnement ? Ces questions sont représentatives des différents programmes de recherches menés sur le secteur des semences au sein du Laboratoire d'Economie Appliquée de Grenoble (GAEL). Ces recherches sont conduites en particulier dans le cadre de plusieurs projets d'investissement d'avenir (Breedwheat, Amaizing), en partenariat avec différents laboratoires de génétique et d'agronomie de l'INRA, ainsi que de nombreuses entreprises semencières.
