Abstract

This paper develops a scale of browsing following the procedure advocated by Churchill (1979). The concept of browsing is presented, then the building of the scale. An initial qualitative study of 17 consumers was used followed by four stages of data collection among 530 consumers to reach a reliable and valid uni-dimensional scale operationalised through seven items.
