Abstract

En l'espace de deux décennies, les fonds d'investissement sont devenus des acteurs incontournables des marchés financiers. Aux côtés des investisseurs institutionnels, spécialisés dans la gestion collective de l'épargne des ménages, se sont développés des fonds non conventionnels, tels que les hedge funds ou les fonds de private equity, dont la gestion opaque et les stratégies risquées suscitent régulièrement la méfiance. Christophe Boucher analyse le poids et le rôle des différentes catégories de fonds d'investissement dans le système financier. Les fonds non conventionnels en sont des acteurs incontournables, non pas en raison des quantités d'actifs gérés, modestes en regard de celles des investisseurs institutionnels, mais du fait de leur concentration et des risques auxquels ils sont exposés.
