Abstract

Le 1er décembre 2009 marque l'entrée en vigueur du traité de Lisbonne qui permet de sortir provisoirement d'un débat européen longtemps focalisé sur les institutions, pour se confronter dans l'urgence au débat économique. Les implications de la crise financière internationale, qui est devenue une crise de la dette souveraine, créent de nouveaux défis pour les Européens. Quels mécanismes de gouvernance et de gestion de crise instituer au sein de la zone euro ? Quelle convergence sociale et fiscale rendra l'union monétaire soutenable ? Comment gérer les écarts de compétitivité ? Quelle régulation des marchés financiers mettre en place ? A partir d'un état des lieux de la construction économique européenne, ce livre permet de situer où en sont les Européens concernant ces différents défis.
