Culture nationale, distance culturelle et stratégies de rapprochement: une analyse du secteur financier

Abstract

Cette recherche vise à expliquer le lien entre la culture nationale des acteurs, la distance culturelle et le choix de la forme de rapprochement dans le secteur financier. L'étude empirique réalisée est fondée sur une base de données européennes recensant 170 opérations de rapprochement formées par des banques et des compagnies d'assurance, de 1997 à 2003. Elle montre que l'origine culturelle des acteurs influence les stratégies de rapprochement empruntées. En revanche, la relation entre la distance culturelle et la forme de rapprochement ne semble pas clairement établie.
