Abstract

we analyze the way Link 16 influences decision performance when decisions are made in challenging, time-sensitive and changing circumstances. We are interested in investigating decision making in natural settings, when individuals cope with pressures of their environment (Klein et al., 1993; Klein, 1998). In that way, our research question can be stated as follows: How does a net-centric decision support system affect decision making performance in extreme environments? It is of managerial and theoretical interest. The first one relates to practical guidance concerning decision making improvements. The theoretical interest concerns the study of a particular case of decision making which will lead us to develop an appropriate decisional model, providing new perspectives to understand the effects of networking technology usages on decision performance.
