Abstract

Cet ouvrage présente et analyse les politiques économiques européennes dans une démarche accessible à un public large. Il couvre l'ensemble des politiques conjoncturelles et structurelles : monétaire, budgétaire, régionale, agricole, de l'emploi, de l'élargissement, etc. Pour chaque politique on étudie ses fondements, ses résultats, ses problèmes et ses perspectives de développement. Les questions liées à l'euro ou à la coordination des politiques économiques nationales traversent naturellement l'ensemble. L'approche souligne la double originalité des politiques économiques européennes : elles s'inscrivent dans un processus d'intégration inachevé ; elles révèlent la tension entre l'attraction pour l'orthodoxie économique et l'ambition de construire un modèle en résonance avec la tradition humaniste du continent européen. Ce livre entend répondre aux attentes de tous ceux qui souhaitent comprendre la place croissante de l'Union économique et monétaire dans la vie économique, sociale et politique des Européens.
