Abstract

Si la croissance des PME focalise l'attention des chercheurs autant que des responsables économiques et politiques, le dirigeant de PME, quant à lui, est peu pris en considération. Plus encore, les dirigeants sont l'objet de perceptions contrastées dans l'opinion publique. De la figure du « grand patron » à celle du « patron-voyou », ils sont régulièrement stigmatisés, parfois jusqu'à la caricature. À l'autre bout du spectre, l'entrepreneur est souvent perçu comme un individu extraordinaire relevant des défis, prenant des risques, tandis que le patron de PME, parfois vu comme un « petit » patron, apparaît relativement familier.
