Abstract

Le philosophe Van Parijs présente une analyse critique systématique de la langue du point de vue de trois principes de justice (la coopération équitable, l'égalité des chances et l'égal respect de la dignité). Il en conclut qu'il faut favoriser le régime du "tout-anglais" tout en permettant, par exception des régimes territoriaux linguistiques, en réalité transitoires. En effet pour l'auteur, la réalisation de la "justice pour tous" suppose que l'humanité parle une seule langue, la lingua franca, qui est aujourd'hui l'anglais. L'irréalisme de ce programme utopique confine au projet totalitaire. Heureusement, ce cauchemar n'a que peu de chances d'advenir, pas plus en tous les cas que le revenu minimum universel, un autre projet favorisé de P. van Parijs.
