Uno studio dei sistemi di protezione sociale europei tramite l’analisi delle componenti principali

Abstract

Questo lavoro analizza la performance dei sistemi di protezione sociale di 22 paesi europei soprattutto per quel che riguarda il fenomeno della stratificazione sociale nel periodo 2007-2017. A tal fine si fa riferimento sia ad un indice multidimensionale di performance che all’analisi delle componenti principali. L’evidenza empirica suggerisce che la crisi finanziaria del 2007 e la Grande Recessione avviata dopo il 2011, abbiano modificato (per molti versi ridimensionato) gli obiettivi dei sistemi di protezione sociale, i quali hanno soltanto in parte contribuito a destratificare la popolazione degli stati europei nel periodo di crisi analizzato.
