Beneficios y desafíos de la gestión integrada Mina - Planta

Abstract

Mine to Mill es una estrategia de integración entre la mina y la planta que tiene como una de sus ideas principales el incrementar el uso de los explosivos en la voladura para disminuir el consumo de energía eléctrica o incrementar el tonelaje procesado en planta. En este trabajo se analizan los beneficios que se pueden alcanzar con la implementación del Mine to Mill y además de los desafíos que en la misma se deben superar. Para ello se han usado tres fuentes: en primer lugar el análisis y síntesis de estudios previos con base empírica presentados o publicados en congresos mundiales, en segundo lugar, los resultados de una encuesta a personas ligadas a nivel mundial a la implementación de proyectos Mine to Mill, ya sea como gerentes de las empresas mineras o como consultores expertos del proyecto de implementación y en tercer lugar se hizo un análisis económico de dos casos en los que se había aplicado el Mine to Mill donde se evidencia la rentabilidad del proyecto.
