Abstract

Neste artigo fazemos uma análise das condições de estabilidade de um modelo macrodinâmico com ajuste Walrasiano sob três diferentes regras de política monetária, a saber: oferta real de moeda constante, taxa constante de crescimento da quantidade nominal de moeda (a “regra de Friedman”) e o regime de metas de inflação. A análise das condições de estabilidade do modelo em questão nos permite concluir que a propensão à estabilidade é maior sob o regime de metas de inflação do que sob as demais regras de política monetária. Esse resultado mostra que a maior flexibilidade no uso dos instrumentos de política monetária relativamente à “regra de Friedman”, em paralelo com o caráter não-passivo da política monetária no regime de metas em comparação com a regra de fixação da quantidade real de moeda, são características importantes para a obtenção da estabilidade macroeconômica.
