Abstract

The implications of factor mobility have received an increasing amount of attention in recent years. Markus Haavio's doctoral dissertation focuses on the significance of factor mobility in problems of pollution and environmental policy. The goal of the thesis is to re-examine the principle of subsidiary which states that international cooperation is warranted if and only if there is transboundary pollution.
