Abstract

Le biais d'etat de Mer (SSB) qui affecte les mesures de hauteur du niveau des oceans (SSH) est habituellement analyse grace a des modeles empiriques parametriques. Les parametres de ces modeles sont estimes de maniere a minimiser la variance residuelle des differences de SSH mesures a des points de croisement ou le long de trajectoires colineaires. On montrera que de tels modeles ne fournissent pas d'approxmation des moindres carres de SSB. Les simulations indiquent que les differences avec l'approximation des moindres carres sont de quelques millimetres a quelques centimetres et dependent de l'etat de mer.
