2017 Rapport sur les politiques alimentaires mondiales: Synopsis

Abstract

L’année 2016 a été marquée par d’indéniables signes de progrès sur le plan de la sécurité alimentaire et de la nutrition, ainsi que par un engagement en faveur du développement durable. Pourtant, les défis découlant des paysages politiques, économiques et démographiques en pleine mutation mettront certainement à l’épreuve la dynamique internationale qui sous-tend le nouveau programme de développement durable. Avec l’urbanisation galopante qui se poursuit à travers le monde, la pauvreté, l’insécurité alimentaire et la malnutrition s’inscrivent de plus en plus dans les problématiques urbaines. Cette évolution rapide modifie les régimes alimentaires et reconfigure les chaînes alimentaires, des petites exploitations aux supermarchés modernes. Dorénavant, les politiques et les investissements visant à éradiquer la faim et la malnutrition devront tenir compte des besoins des populations urbaines pauvres et établir des liens solides entre les producteurs alimentaires des zones rurales et les marchés urbains afin de subvenir aux besoins des populations tant urbaines que rurales.
