Abstract

Las alzas de precios de los alimentos de 2008 y 2011 y las dislocaciones económicas, políticas y sociales que generaron, provocaron un reenfoque de la atención de los responsables de políticas y desarrollo en cuestiones de agricultura y seguridad alimentaria. Estas también resaltaron la importancia de políticas macroeconómicas para el crecimiento económico, la reducción de la pobreza y la inequidad, seguridad alimentaria, y la sostenibilidad ambiental. Es más, de acuerdo con Eugenio Díaz-Bonilla en su nuevo libro, Macroeconomía, Agricultura y Seguridad Alimentaria: Guía para el Análisis de Políticas en Países en Desarrollo, las políticas macroeconómicas que influyen en la agricultura son vitales para el desarrollo de las economías de los países en desarrollo así como la economía global, por varias razones fundamentales
