Abstract

Le programme ASTI sur les indicateurs relatifs aux sciences et aux technologies agricoles de l’Institut international de recherche sur les politiques alimentaires (IFPRI) et le Conseil ouest-africain pour la recherche et le développement agricoles (CORAF) ont mené une étude approfondie sur des aspects cruciaux des capacités humaines, financières institutionnelles consacrées à la R&D agricole au Burkina Faso ainsi que dans cinq autres pays d’Afrique occidentale (Bénin, Ghana, Sénégal, Sierra Leone et Togo). L’étude a consisté à recueillir des données quantitatives et qualitatives détaillées auprès des institutions, entre autres sous la forme d’une enquête sur la motivation du personnel qui ciblait une sélection de chercheurs et de cadres de la gestion constituant un échantillon représentatif en termes de poste, niveau d’éducation, sexe, ancienneté et lieu de travail.
