Les annonces de division/multiplication de nominal en France : Timing, visibilité, motivation des dirigeants et intérêt des investisseurs

Abstract

Les annonces de modification de nominal sont relativement courantes de nos jours en France. Souvent définies comme des opérations « cosmétiques » sur le marché boursier, sans impact réel sur la richesse des actionnaires, celles-ci paraissent pourtant appréciées des investisseurs. L’analyse d’une centaine d’annonces de division/multiplication en 5 ans, de début 2003 à fin 2007, permet alors de mieux cerner les tenants et aboutissants de ces opérations financières. L’objet de ce papier est donc d’apprécier leur visibilité dans la presse spécialisée notamment, observer la motivation affichée des dirigeants à mettre en place ces opérations et étudier l’intérêt qu’y accordent les investisseurs sur le marché français.
