A OCDE como fórum de governança das empresas multinacionais

Abstract

A ascensão das empresas multinacionais no cenário internacional tornou a regulação estatal insuficiente, o que fortaleceu a importância das Organizações Internacionais para regular o tema. Este trabalho destaca a atuação da Organização para a Cooperação e Desenvolvimento Econômico (OCDE) na governança global e, especialmente, analisa suas Diretrizes para Empresas Multinacionais enquanto recomendações conjuntamente dirigidas pelos governos aderentes, membros e não membros da OCDE, às empresas multinacionais. O acompanhamento e implementação das Diretrizes é realizado pelo Comitê de Investimentos da OCDE e pelos Pontos de Contato Nacional (PCNs). O Brasil aderiu às Diretrizes em 1997, estabeleceu seu PCN em 2003, e tem buscado adequar-se ao conteúdo do instrumento.
