El impacto de los factores geográficos sobre las necesidades de gasto autonómicas: una aproximación empírica

Abstract

En la presente nota se explora el impacto de algunas variables de carácter geográfico (insularidad, superficie y dispersión de la población) sobre los costes de provisión de los servicios de titularidad autonómica utilizando la metodología desarrollada en de la Fuente y Gundín (2009). Los resultados indican que algunos factores geográficos tienen un efecto significativo sobre los costes de los servicios que prestan las autonomías, pero seguramente no mayor que el que ya recoge la fórmula de necesidades de gasto del actual modelo de financiación.
