Convergencia en precios en las provincias españolas

    Abstract

    En este trabajo evaluamos la convergencia en niveles de precios entre Las provincias españolas. Para ello, a partir de series largas del Indice de Precios de Consumo para las 50 provincias, aplicamos tanto contrastes De Raíces unitarias y de estacionariedad a las diferencias frente a la Media nacional como contrastes de cointegración entre los índices provinciales y nacional, permitiendo en todos los casos la existencia de rupturas en las series. El procedimiento adoptado nos permite evaluar tanto procesos de convergencia a largo plazo como procesos de aproximación (o "catching up").
