Evolución del Gasto Público por Funciones durante la crisis (2007-2014): España vs UE

Abstract

Actualmente, estamos inmersos en un proceso de consolidación fiscal con objetivo de reducir el déficit público hasta niveles por debajo del 3%, tal y como establece el Pacto de Estabilidad y Crecimiento. Durante este proceso se han producido recortes en los gastos y al mismo tiempo los impuestos han aumentado. En este documento analizaremos cuál ha sido la evolución de las distintas partidas de gasto por funciones entre 2007 y 2014. Nos centraremos en principalmente en los distintas programas del Estado de Bienestar: sanidad, educación, pensiones y resto de protección social (sin incluir pensiones ni desempleo). El documento concluye que el gasto público ha aumentado durante el periodo 2007 y 2014 debido a los mayores gastos en pensiones, desempleo y gasto en intereses. En cambio, España continúa a la cola de Europa en gasto en sanidad, educación y resto de protección social.
