Abstract

This case study was undertaken to understand and document the experiences of the Valsad district. The researchers spent two weeks in Valsad collecting data. Interviews were conducted with functionaries at district, block and village level from both departments in order to better understand the process. In addition, a number of Mamta Diwas (Village Health and Nutrition Day) were attended to observe activities and interview beneficiaries to gain insight into their experiences of the services they received. Other key stakeholders such as Anganwadi Workers (AWW) and village volunteers were also interviewed for their perspectives.
