Abstract

The research was undertaken to better understand the current policy and plans of the Cambodian government for the electricity sector; map the decision-making process; develop a greater understanding of the key actors involved; outline the extent of Chinese investment in Cambodia’s hydropower sector; and determine any social and environmental implications. A fieldtrip to the Kamchay Dam was undertaken to better understand the project’s impact at this early stage of development. [IRN Report].
