Sesgos de medición del índice nacional de precios al consumidor 2002-2007

Abstract

Utilizando parcialmente el enfoque propuesto por Diewert (1998), se estiman los sesgos por sustitución de productos genéricos, por puntos de compra y por mejoras de calidad del índice de precios al consumidor mexicano. El principal resultado indica la existencia de un sesgo al alza de aproximadamente 0.5%, en promedio anual, entre 2002 y 2007. La cifra propuesta es conservadora en la medida que se ignoraron otros tres sesgos reconocidos por la literatura, a saber, por sustitución de productos específicos, y por la introducción de nuevas versiones y nuevos productos.
