Abstract

Conclusiones de las reuniones de expertos realizadas con el fin de orientar las operaciones censales de 1980, referidas a la medicion de la mortalidad. Con la inclusion de una pregunta acerca de los sobrevivientes de los hijos nacidos vivos, se dispone de informacion que permite estimar la mortalidad al comienzo de la vida (entre 0 y 5 anos); con preguntas acerca de la orfandad materna y de la viudez del primer marido se obtiene informacion para estimar la mortalidad entre los 30 y los 60 anos. Faltaria informacion relativa a la mortalidad entre los 5 y 30 anos, como tambien despues de los 60. Al respecto, actualmente se encuentran en etapa de experimentacion en encuestas, otras preguntas cuyo proposito es satisfacer esta necesidad. Mientras tanto, se puede inferir la mortalidad de los dos ultimos grupos indicados, a partir de las estimaciones que actualmente es posible realizar
