Las estadisticas de la fuerza de trabajo en el estudio de las clases sociales

Abstract

Los Sistemas de Estadisticas Sociales que incluyen la "clase social" como variable importante, no siempre indican cuales son los sistemas clasificatorios atingentes, y cuando lo hacen, proponen sistemas categoriales construidos en base a la informacion sobre algunas "caracteristicas economicas" de la poblacion. Las caracteristicas mas frecuentemente seleccionadas son el "tipo de actividad", "ocupacion principal", "categoria de ocupacion" y "rama de actividad", cada una de las cuales posee su propio sistema clasificatorio consagrado para uso internacional. Para cada una de estas caracteristicas se estudian los sistemas clasificatorios utilizados, y la forma en que se presenta a los usuarios corrientes la informacion obtenida, a fin de determinar el grado de adecuacion a la investigacion social.
