Mecanismos de seguimiento del Programa de Acción sobre la Población y el Desarrollo en los Países de Latinoamérica y el Caribe

Abstract

Resumen Este documento analiza los resultados de una encuesta realizada por el CELADE-División de Población en el marco de las actividades en marcha sobre sistemas de indicadores para el seguimiento del Programa de Acción sobre Población y Desarrollo establecido en la Conferencia Internacional sobre la Población y el Desarrollo (CIPD) de 1994, y del Plan de Acción Regional Latinoamericano y Caribeño sobre Población y Desarrollo, que aprobado en su forma final en 1996. A los datos de dicha encuesta, realizada a fin de 2000, se agrega información seleccionada de la Octava Encuesta sobre Población y Desarrollo efectuada por la División de Población del Departamento de Desarrollo Económico y Social de las Naciones Unidas en 1998 y de una sobre las Experiencias Nacionales desde la CIPD realizada por el Fondo de Población de las Naciones Unidas (FNUAP) en ese mismo año. La organización de la encuesta del CELADE - División de Población, sobre mecanismos de seguimiento, principal base de datos analizada en este documento, estuvo a cargo de Arodys Robles, consultor. Jorge Bravo, experto del CELADE, realizó el análisis de los resultados y redactó el documento. Contribuyeron con sus comentarios Juan Chackiel, Jefe del Área de Demografía, Arodys Robles y Fabiana del Popolo, consultora. El FNUAP brindó apoyo en la realización de la encuesta, facilitando los contactos en los países.
