Abstract

Bajo el título Calidad y equidad de la educación media en Chile: rezagos estructurales y criterios emergentes" este número de la serie"Políticas Sociales"reúne las ponencias presentadas a la primera mesa redonda del Seminario-taller "Reforma de la educación media en Chile: ¿hacia una mayor equidad?, realizado en la CEPAL en Santiago de Chile el 11 y 12 de abril de 1995. La primera mesa redonda se centró en el tratamiento de los aspectos generales de la calidad y equidad de la educación media; la segunda mesa en los aspectos exógenos al sistema educativo que tienen que ver con la calidad y equidad de la educación media; la tercera de ellas estuvo dirigida a examinar la relación entre educación y oportunidades y condiciones de empleo, y la cuarta a la viabilidad política, institucional y económica de la reforma educativa. Aparte de una introducción general al tema, presentada por la División de Desarrollo Social de la CEPAL, este documento contiene el texto de la exposición inaugural del seminario, a cargo del señor Cristián Cox, y las contribuciones de los expertos nacionales y regionales señores, Ernesto Schiefelbein, María José Lemaitre, Martín Hopenhayn, y Erika Himmel. La difusión de las ponencias correspondientes a las restantes mesas redondas se incluirán en los próximos números de esta serie."
