Legislaciones nacionales y derechos sociales en América Latina: análisis comparado hacia la superación de la pobreza infantil

Abstract

En este documento se identifican y analizan las tendencias en la adopción de legislación relativas a los derechos sociales, el cuidado en los hogares infantiles, la protección de la maternidad y paternidad, la prevención y protección del trabajo infantil y la descentralización en materias sociales relativas a la infancia y su adecuación con respecto a la Convención de los Derechos del Niño y a los tratados de derechos humanos que reconocen derechos sociales en los países de América Latina y Caribe. Finalmente, se intenta resaltar los temas pendientes en materia legislativa para asegurar la protección social y el pleno goce y ejercicio de sus derechos a los niños, niñas y adolescentes. También se formulan algunas sugerencias respecto a la adopción de legislación, políticas y medidas de implementación en el marco de los esfuerzos gubernamentales para la superación de la pobreza infantil.
