Tecnologías de la información y la comunicación en el sector salud: oportunidades y desafíos para reducir inequidades en América Latina y el Caribe

Abstract

En este documento, primero, se identifican y describen los diversos beneficios esperados como resultado de la incorporación de TIC en salud; luego, se hace una síntesis de desafíos presentes y futuros para las políticas de salud, en particular respecto de las poblaciones más vulnerables; en tercer lugar se muestran los avances, a nivel global, respecto de distintas aplicaciones así como las estrategias seguidas y dificultades observadas en algunos países desarrollados y otros de ALC. Se finaliza con propuestas genéricas para la formulación de políticas y estrategias a ser consideradas y adaptadas por los países de la región.
