Las brechas entre el campo y la ciudad en Colombia 1990-2003, y propuestas para reducirlas

Abstract

En este estudio se determinan las brechas rural-urbanas a nivel nacional y por regiones a partir de la Encuesta Calidad de Vida 2003 y se sigue la evolución desde 1990 con base en fuentes secundarias. El examen se complementa con un análisis de las condiciones socioeconómicas de los diversos tipos de hogares rurales y con una síntesis de los determinantes de la pobreza. Se hace un breve diagnóstico de la dinámica económica y social de la agricultura en Colombia y se emprende un balance crítico de las iniciativas de política pública que en los últimos años han presentado diferentes actores para el sector rural. Los lineamientos propuestos apuntan a la estabilización de la producción y la población rural en el marco de su complejidad y de las tendencias de la inserción del país a la economía mundial.
