Abstract

Ce document, qui est une synthèse de l’étude intitulée «Les personnes d’ascendance africaine et la matrice des inégalités sociales en Amérique latine: les défis de l’inclusion», apporte des informations nouvelles et actualisées sur les conditions de vie des personnes d’ascendance africaine. Des avancées sont constatées dans divers domaines du développement, mais celles-ci restent néanmoins insuffisantes pour venir à bout du racisme et des profondes inégalités structurelles qui caractérisent toujours leur situation. Ces résultats font ressortir les enjeux majeurs auxquels sont confrontés les États et la société en général. À cet effet, le document propose une série de recommandations politiques qu’il convient de prendre en compte dans les processus de transformation et de consolidation démocratique requis dans la région.
