Fortalecimiento de la cadena de valor de turismo en Pedernales, República Dominicana

Abstract

En este documento se sintetiza el proceso de diagnóstico y formulación de estrategias para el fortalecimiento de la cadena de valor del turismo en la provincia de Pedernales, República Dominicana. El estudio fue realizado a solicitud del Ministerio de Industria, Comercio y MiPymes en coordinación con el Ministerio de la Presidencia en el marco del proyecto CEPAL-FIDA: «Crecimiento inclusivo, política industrial rural y cadenas de valor participativas en América Latina y el Caribe». El objetivo es desarrollar el potencial turístico de la provincia de Pedernales y fomentar el escalamiento económico y social de su población. El diagnóstico se apoyó en tres misiones de campo a Santo Domingo y Pedernales entre 2015 y 2016 en las que se recabó información y se entrevistó a los actores relevantes de la cadena. Los resultados del diagnóstico y las estrategias propuestas fueron validados en dos mesas de diálogo público-privado realizadas en abril y junio de 2016.
