Las alianzas público-privadas en energías renovables en América Latina y el Caribe

Abstract

Este informe intenta destacar la importancia de la participación privada para incrementar el uso de energías renovables no convencionales en proyectos de mediana y gran magnitud, generalmente conectados a una red nacional de distribución. Para tal fin, se hace una breve explicación de la segmentación del mercado eléctrico en algunos países-target (Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, México, Perú y Uruguay), y se identifican a los actores principales del sector eléctrico. Así mismo, se mencionan los aspectos ambientales y sociales relevantes a la energía eléctrica, particularmente el cambio climático y el acceso a la electricidad, destacando el rol clave que las energías renovables pueden jugar en dichos aspectos.
