Abstract

Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) hat jüngst Richtlinien für Studien, die Basisdaten für gesundheitspolitische Entscheidungen im Pandemiefall liefern können, veröffentlicht. Durch die Zusammenarbeit zwischen unterschiedlichen Disziplinen kann es gelingen, evidenzbasierte Entscheidungen durch qualitativ hochwertige, längsschnittliche Befragungsdaten aus den Sozial- und Wirtschaftswissenschaften in Verbindung mit wiederholten Labortests zum Virus- und Antikörpernachweis sowie Erhebungen des Gesundheitsstatus mit soliden statistischen Analysen zu unterfüttern. Der hier vorgestellte Studienplan und das erhebungstechnische Konzept zur Erforschung des Umfangs und der Dynamik von SARS-CoV-2-Infektionen und COVID-19-Erkrankungen unter Nutzung der haushaltsbasierten Multi-Kohortenstudie Sozio-oekonomisches Panel (SOEP) erfüllen die Anforderungen der WHO zur Messung der Prävalenz von COVID-19 in vollem Umfang und bieten darüber hinaus weitreichende Analysemöglichkeiten zu gesundheitlichen und sozio-ökonomischen Auswirkungen der Pandemie.
