Bannissement des produits dérivés : la bonne affaire ?

Abstract

Dans cet article à vocation pédagogique, nous proposons un éclairage différent sur les produits dérivés. A l’aide d’exemples simples, nous expliquons en quoi certaines positions d’apparence spéculative peuvent en réalité répondre à un réel besoin économique. De même, la titrisation, pointée comme une des principales causes de la crise, peut paradoxalement également faire partie de la solution. Enfin, nous discutons la tendance actuelle -à nos yeux inquiétante- de la régulation qui, dans un souci de renforcement de la résilience des banques, incite à transférer certaines responsabilités des institutions bancaires vers les agents économiques les moins armés pour y faire face.
