La decisión de revelar voluntariamente información de la empresa: desde el análisis teórico a una propuesta metodológica

Abstract

La necesidad de financiarse en unos mercados de capitales cada vez más sofisticados y complejos obliga las empresas a facilitar una cantidad de información superior a la que implica el mero cumplimiento de las obligaciones legales en materia de información contable. En este trabajo, en primer lugar, se analizan los fundamentos teóricos del análisis de la decisión de revelar de manera voluntaria información relevante de la empresa. Se explica el fenómeno de la "selección adversa" como determinante principal de la decisión de revelar y el principio de la revelación total. A seguir se enumeran los factores que pueden influenciar la decisión de revelar selectivamente información cuando el principio de revelación total no puede funcionar. En la segunda parte del trabajo se propone un marco metodológico para la toma de decisiones de revelación, basado en el utilizo secuencial de matrices de decisión.
