Abstract

Après les péripéties sur les inscriptions scolaires, le temps est venu de parler qualité des écoles. On a beaucoup discuté et commenté les résultats décevants des élèves francophones aux tests PISA 2006, notamment en comparaison des performances remarquables des élèves flamands. Nous allons, dans cet article, essayer de comprendre et d’expliquer pourquoi l’école flamande fait mieux que l’école francophone. Nous allons aussi montrer et expliquer pourquoi, dans les deux Communautés linguistiques, l’enseignement est aussi le plus inégalitaire au monde. En préliminaire à cette analyse, nous discutons du coût relatif de l’enseignement francophone et de la pertinence de l’enquête PISA 2006 pour évaluer l’enseignement.
