Abstract

***** Labor is one of the most important factors of the process of production, hence the need to define a quantitative framework relating the number of workers and the number of full time employments with the output of productive units. The main objective of this paper is to define the concepts used in the employment matrix, to present in detail the existing sources of information, to explain the operations related to the transformation of the number of workers into full time equivalent employments and to show the general outcomes of the integration of the employment matrix into the new National Accounts estimation, for the base year 2005.
