Efecto de las políticas públicas de vigilancia, control y regulación en el mercado del tabaco en Colombia

Abstract

El presente estudio tiene como objetivo el análisis del mercado del tabaco en Colombia y el efecto de las políticas públicas de regulación, vigilancia y control. Específicamente pretende establecer cuál fue el comportamiento económico de las marcas y su evolución en términos de eficiencia, después de que la Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio objetara en primera instancia una integración empresarial entre las 2 principales companías tabacaleras nacionales -Companía Colombiana de Tabaco S.A. [Coltabaco] y Productora Tabacalera de Colombia Ltda. [Protabaco]-, y posteriormente, aprobara otra integración -Protabaco y British American Tobacco South American Limited [BAT]- dentro del mismo mercado relevante.
