Abstract

No es difícil mostrar cifras que evidencien la importancia de la ganadería bovina nacional, según reciente informe de la Misión de Estudios del Sector Agropecuario : entre 1970 y 1988 el valor de la producción pecuaria de Colombia (a precios constantes de 1975), creció a una tasa promedio anual de 2.8%, significativamente mas bajo que la del P. I. B. nacional y agropecuario; a su vez, dentro de la producción pecuaria, la ganadería bovina represento mas del 60%, y para 1987 la producción bovina .(carne y leche) represento el 21 % del P. I. B. agropecuario y el 4.4% del P. I. B. total nacional.
