Teoría y realidad de los esquemas de inflación objetivo: aproximaciones al caso colombiano

Abstract

Este artículo presenta una resena de los principales modelos teóricos que explican los esquemas de inflación objetivo. Se realiza también una síntesis de alguna evidencia empírica internacional en la aplicación de este arreglo monetario, que tiene como objetivo central la estabilidad de precios. Igual mente, se describe el esquema de conducción de la política monetaria en Colombia, adoptado formalmente en octubre de 2000. En esta última parte, se plantean, a título de reflexiones preliminares, algunos interrogantes sobre los posibles problemas de este esquema en Colombia en los próximos anos.
