La cooperación internacional Sur-Sur en América Latina y el Caribe: una mirada desde sus avances y limitaciones hacia un contexto de crisis mundial

Abstract

Existe hasta la fecha un amplio panorama de conocimientos respectoal estudio de la Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo y susrespectivas modalidades. Incluso, para la Cooperación InternacionalSur-Sur, una de aquellas menos analizadas, también se cuenta conun número considerable de producción documental, con un énfasisparticular en los diálogos y avances que se han dado en el marco delSistema de Naciones Unidas y en la región de América Latina y elCaribe. No obstante, han sido pocos los trabajos que recorren deforma detallada la historia, evolución y avances conceptuales respectoa ésta. Este artículo contiene los resultados de una investigación quepresenta la evolución histórica, conceptual y los principales avancesen materia de Cooperación Sur-Sur con especial énfasis en la regiónlatinoamericana, de forma que permita aportar a la comprensiónhistórica, espacial y temporal de la Cooperación Sur-Sur y facilitarmayores y mejores avances que permitan identificar nuevos camposde investigación y posibilidades para esta área del conocimiento. Nowadays there is a wide panorama of knowledge regarding the studyof International Cooperation for Development and its respectivemodalities. Even for one of the least analyzed cases, the South-SouthCooperation, there is an important volume of literature, with aparticular focus on the dialogues and advances achieved by the UnitedNations´ system and in the Latin American and Caribbean region.However, detailed studies about the history, evolution and advancesof this topic are scarce. This study seeks to organize and present thehistorical and conceptual evolution of South-South Cooperation andits main achievements, focusing on the Latin-American region, inorder to contribute towards the historical, spatial and temporarycomprehension of South-South Cooperation to facilitate biggerand better advances that permit to identify new research fields andpossibilities for this area of knowledge.
