Cali: Narcotráfico, poder y violencia

Abstract

Este ensayo sugiere que la estabilidad de la violencia letal de los ultimos veinte anos en Cali, es el resultado de la interacción de los remanentesdel sistema de seguridad de los grandes senores del narcotráfico de los anos 1980, con la renuncia de las elites locales a la dirección de la seguridad ciudadana, los negocios ilegales y legales, y la reconfiguración de la ciudad inducida por la guerra irregular, el influjo de desterrados y la trasnformación del narcotráfico y la protección extorsiva en actividades locales que afectan a los más pobres.
