Una Aproximación A Los Rendimientos Sociales De La Educación En Colombia Y Sus Diferencias Regionales

Abstract

Este trabajo estima los rendimientos privados y sociales de la educación, medidos como un aumento del salario. Los trabajos previos muestran en su mayoría que los retornos sociales de la educación son menores a los privados debido a que no tienen en cuenta los efectos externos que generan los individuos más educados sobre el resto de personas. El trabajo se estima para las 13 Áreas Metropolitanas de Colombia. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que los retornos sociales de la educación superan los privados en cada una de las Áreas Metropolitanas y son mayores para los individuos de estratos socioeconómicos bajos.
